The Library of Congress THOMAS site is the source for federal legislative information. THOMAS provides several options for finding bills, resolutions, and legislative histories from 1973 to the present.

FDA's Current Drug Shortage List

The Food and Drug Administration maintains and updates regularly a list of current drug shortage information provided by companies voluntarily.

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)

The U.S. federal agency which administers Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children's Health Insurance Program provides information for health professionals, regional governments, and consumers.

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality(AHRQ)

AHRQ is the lead Federal agency charged with improving the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care for all Americans. You can find information about funding opportunities, research findings, topics and publications and links to their many quality and patient safety initiatives.

CMS Innovation Center

The Innovation Center website serves as a warehouse of new care models for Medicare, Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program, Government Health IT reports and includes a collection of criteria that care models will need to meet.

The Emergency System for Advance Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals (ESAR-VHP)

ESAR-VHP is a national network of state-based registries that allows health professionals the opportunity to get their licenses and credentials verified before a disaster happens.  You can learn more about the program here and also register with your state here.

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI)

The independent, non‐profit research organization intended to help patients and those who care for them make better informed health decisions and provide a better understanding of the prevention, treatment and care options available, and the science that supports those options.  Search funding opportunities, apply for grants, and provide input.

The National Quality Forum (NQF)

The National Quality Forum (NQF) is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. dedicated to improving the quality of health care in the United States. NQF embodies a three-part mission -- to set goals for performance improvement, to endorse standards for measuring and reporting on performance and to promote educational and outreach programs. NQF members include purchasers, physicians, nurses, hospitals, certification bodies and fellow quality improvement organizations.
